Monika Brooks is a Leadership and Diversity Consultant and Founder of Great Books for Our Kids, A Community Based Organization that provides information on multicultural books, authors, bookstores and websites.Great Books for Our Kids provides strategies that encourage children to read through interactive and community events., an organization dedicated to promoting Literacy/Education as a way to ensure success.
In addition to her love of books, Monika also loves to share information regarding Autism Awareness. As one of the coordinators of the Bay Area Mocha Autism Network, her goal is to help parents/teachers in underrepresented areas "Check for the Spectrum" by helping increase awareness and Identification of Autism Spectrum traits in Children of Color. In April 2011, Monika and Bruce Meadors, Jr. launched "Now In Session with Monika and Bruce." a weekly broadcast on BlogTalkRadio in which current events (Local and National) are discussed. A member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Monika holds a Bachelors Degree in the Area of Black Studies from San Francisco State University's College of Ethnic Studies. She is currently working towards and advanced degree in Educational Leadership.
