![]() Monika Brooks is a community member and advocate for literacy, racial diversity and autism awareness in the Bay Area. interactive community building. She is a champion of equity as well as the founder of the Mocha Autism Network in which she works to spread awareness of autism within commuities of color. Monika has regularly used online media outlets to express her opinions and advocate for the causes she is a part of. She has appeared regularly on This Week in Blackness, Altruistic Leadership's "Take a Lesson: Uncovering Hidden Mentors for Diverse Leaders," "Nerdgasm Noire," and "Operation Cubicle." From 2011-13, Monika collaborated with Bruce Meadors and launched Now in Session with Monika and Bruce" which aired over 100 episodes. As a writer, Monika has been featured on the Classy Black Girl, Altruistic Leadership, and Educated Hood Chicks Websites. A member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Monika holds a Bachelors Degree in the Area of Black Studies from San Francisco State University's College of Ethnic Studies. She currently hold a postion on the Board of Oakland's Museum of Children's Art. |
